Longing-

9

We search to find what You’ve hid here
Those glimpses of Your heaven
My headlights fail, my fuel is gone,
Yet still, I bake unleavened
“Replace those parts,” the wise man says
His pointed finger shaking
I’d rather be a hungry soul
Than catch my spirit faking
I’ve met the folks who say they’re full
And those who say they’re dry
The ones who long and yearn and dream,
Their souls seem satisfied
The healing has a hurt to kill
The catches have a fall
The miracles that need no faith
Aren’t miracles at all
I’ll die and if I’m not destroyed
I’ll see You free and clear
The wisdom of this world will one
day cry eternal tears
The pain of you is in my side
I feel it like a thorn
It feels like death. I know it’s death
It’s how I got rebornĀ
